Getting Caught Up...

I've gotten a bit behind on my posting of pictures and stories and I offer my profound apologies to my family and friends that like to keep tabs on my activity. Here are a few pictures to give you a taste of what has been happening with me and my family, but many more pictures will be found on my flickr account and then you can look at specific pictures by selecting one of the sets along the right side of the screen.

Russell - a.k.a. - Waylon

This is a video of Russell playing and singing at the Farmers' Market in Holdrege. He did a great job and once the crowd showed up they absolutely loved him. In this video he's performing his rendition of Waylon Jenning's "Just to Satisfy You".

Bowling Night

Here's a picture of Russell and I during one of our bowling nights with all of our friends. It seems like every time we're together with a bunch of friends there always has to be a "couple's" picture. I don't mind it, though, and neither does Russ. :)

UNK Tours Italy

This is the University of Nebraska at Kearney "Pride of the Plains" Marching Band in Rome, Italy reigning in the new year. The band toured from December 28, 2008 - January 3, 2009. It was a very short trip but a lot of fun!

It may seem like it's a little bit out of order but that is because not all of the pictures were taken by me. I have pictures from Chancellor Doug Kristensen and Adrienne Olin-Rall as well.

My Cowboy...

By popular demand...

Here is a picture of me with my boyfriend, Russell. We have now been dating for a month and things are going very well so far. We have a lot in common but there are a few things that we don't quite see eye-to-eye on; that's what makes a relationship fun and interesting.

Christmas 2008!

So, you know it's going to be a wonderful Christmas Day when you start off the morning celebrating the birth of Jesus with some of your closest friends and then watching the sun rise.

Fellowship around the tables after the morning service.

Finally, it's about time for Christmas Supper (the evening meal on a farm).

Josh's favorite gift of the night, Guitar Hero boxer shorts.

Nathan with Meredith (the "genie")

Grant and Tyler playing a game.

Nicholas had never received so much money all at one time.

Meredith turned out to be a pretty good shot!

Piles of toys!

Church Decorating

Josh and I were invited to join some of our good church friends in decorating Fellowship Hall at church. This was extremely important for me as I was in Kearney on the day that church decorating happened. This was the last room to be decorated.

Chuck and Grandpa attempting to put lights on the Christmas tree.

Ruby and Grandma decorating the tables with greenery.

Chuck working intently on getting the lights up.

Josh was actually the photographer for the beginning.

Getting all the decorations on the tree. Ha! Ha! "The angel had a movement." - inside joke

Still putting decorations on the tree.

Grandpa's putting the angel(?) on the tree.

When Siblings Get Bored

This is what happens when siblings in the Lawton household get bored. The first picture was taken before any "styling" happened. The rest are pretty self-explanatory.

A Family Thanksgiving

What a joy it is to get together with family for the holidays! There's always fun and games and fellowship. What a great way to celebrate and think about all that you have to be thankful for this past year.

"The Kitchen Crew" getting Thanksgiving Dinner ready.

Aunt Linda carving the turkey. Boy, was it good!

Now, here's a fun game...how many cousins can we fit on one couch? Oh, you'd be surprised!

I don't know what got into Josh after supper? He was wound up and started acting pretty silly. Then Jacob joined in and they nearly had us rolling on the floor. More of those pictures are on my flickr account.

After the table was cleared, the cousins sat down for a game of "Apples to Apples". What a great time!
