So, my friend, Dani, and her suitemate, Ami, decided that it would be fun to go on a road trip. However, they needed someone that wouldn't get lost and get them back to Kearney safe and sound...me :) It was an absolute blast! I love driving through the countryside anyway and what better way to do it then with friends? So, Sunday afternoon we took a mini-road trip through northern Nebraska.
Getting started...just north of Kearney

We can't really call this our first destination because we didn't have a set plan to go by. So our first place of interest was Rockville, NE.

Next we traveled to Loup City, NE...the Polish Capital of Nebraska.

Ami found the cowboy hats in my backseat so after that the trip was themed as a cowgirl trip since we were in "Cowboy Country" according to Ami.

The two navigators trying to read a map and not make me confused. We wanted to make sure that we didn't take the same route getting home as we did getting away.

We stopped to visit a few historical markers along our journey. Ami was really fascinated with the history of our state...however, not as much as I am. I love reading about American/Nebraska history.

Another place of interest...Burwell, NE
Just enjoying the car ride and the scenery. We entered the eastern edge of the Sandhills and they were absolutely lovely.
I taught Dani and Ami how to play the Windmill Game to help with the entertainment during the drive. We had a lot of fun but then it became a challenge to see who could get the best snapshot of a windmill. Since I was driving I allowed Ami to use my camera because her's was out of memory.
We were starting the last leg of the journey with this town, Anselmo, NE.
Hey, what can I say? It's fun rubbing off on people...
