Getting Caught Up...

I've gotten a bit behind on my posting of pictures and stories and I offer my profound apologies to my family and friends that like to keep tabs on my activity. Here are a few pictures to give you a taste of what has been happening with me and my family, but many more pictures will be found on my flickr account and then you can look at specific pictures by selecting one of the sets along the right side of the screen.

RMAC = PeP bAnD!!!!!

March 7 & 8 the UNK Pep Band headed to Pueblo, CO to support our men's and women's basketball teams as they battled for the championship. Although the outcome of the games wasn't what we hoped for, it was still a great time!

This is the only view of the Rocky Mountains we were allowed to see. We passed them on our way to Pueblo. The area we were in looked similar to the Sandhills but with a lot more desert-like conditions.

The UNK men playing CCU-Colorado Christian University.

Due to the RMAC rules, only a certain number of us were allowed to play a time. So, the trumpets rotated and one person sat out during each song. Obviously, I had my turn to sit out and rest my chops for a while.

Our fearless leader - Dr. Schnoor. He's a lot of fun to travel with! I sat near the front close to Doc so I wouldn't have to put up with the obnoxious people sitting in the rear. We had some pretty fascinating conversations.

Me and Laura. We've become really good friends and "stand buddies" both in pep band and concert band.

While I was sitting out on one of the songs, J. J. Jumper, the official Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference mascot, came and stole my trumpet while I wasn't looking and pretended to play along with the band.

Of course, any trip can't be all work and no play. There was a group that gathered in the hotel room of me and some of my friends and got Rock Band going. It's a really fun game in which someone plays the guitar, electric bass, drums and then a singer. I must say, I was on fire with the bass line!
