Getting Caught Up...

I've gotten a bit behind on my posting of pictures and stories and I offer my profound apologies to my family and friends that like to keep tabs on my activity. Here are a few pictures to give you a taste of what has been happening with me and my family, but many more pictures will be found on my flickr account and then you can look at specific pictures by selecting one of the sets along the right side of the screen.

Monday in College

Here's the beginning of my posts giving you a "play by play" of what an average day on campus and UNK is like for me. We'll start with Monday...the beginning of a busy week.

This is my morning walk to the Fine Arts Building where I have music theory at 8:00. I have come to learn that this is not the best way for me to wake up in the morning. In fact, it's usually just the opposite.

After theory, the wonderful ladies at Starbucks, located inside the FAB (I know, isn't it wonderful!), get me going in the morning. They know my name and also what I order on a regular basis. They just ask if I want the usual (carmel cappuccino with a hint of extra carmel) and they make it up for me right away. They're great! Sometimes it's the only way I survive the morning.

My long haul to West Center. It's the big building located at the end of the sidewalk...oh, wait, you can't see it yet. My bad. This is where I have Economics. This particular morning I arrived at the classroom only to find a note on the door saying that class had been cancelled for the day.

Sight singing and ear training. Not my favorite class but it's really laid-back. That's Bob, my professor. He's a really neat guy with a...unique sense of humor. He's also the low brass instructor and my theory teacher.

Ahh, now we're talking. Band rehearsal; my favorite part of the day. We're getting ready for our concert on April 15th. Rehearsal is my time to let my frustrations from the day out through my trumpet. It's a really good stress reliever. Nothing beats a sense of accomplishment at the end of a rehearsal.
