Getting Caught Up...

I've gotten a bit behind on my posting of pictures and stories and I offer my profound apologies to my family and friends that like to keep tabs on my activity. Here are a few pictures to give you a taste of what has been happening with me and my family, but many more pictures will be found on my flickr account and then you can look at specific pictures by selecting one of the sets along the right side of the screen.

Skipping Class... :-)

So, a few of you caught me last Friday when Sheila, my trumpet buddy, and I skipped class so we could go and watch the US Marine Band march in Grand Island. But, I explained the reasoning to my teacher and he said that he would consider it a career-linked absence so it's all good.
I'll have to be honest, I was in utter amazement at their sound and crispness in maneuvers. They even performed a concert here in Kearney on Thursday night and friends and I were laughing at each other saying, "Hey, you better wipe the drool off your face." Yeah, you know you're a band nerd when...
They were doing a marching clinic with the Grand Island Senior High band when Sheila and I arrived at the football field. As we were watching, we kept saying how jealous we were and that we really wanted to be on the field to listen to what the Marines were telling the students.

Now they finally started marching their field show that they had just thrown together around 2 days before performance. How could one not be amazed!?
